Ugh...tell me I'm reading this wrong...

Hi Everyone,

New here!

I had a question around the wording of a problem, as I wrap my head around it...

t-distribution problem, and the wording of "significantly" specifically.

I've stated the Hypothesis, however in calculating my t, I get 5.617 and when comparing it to the tables, it's quite large. Must be something simple I'm missing.

The hypothesis used is to test whether the mean for the population is "significantly" greater than the sample. Where the sample mean is 637 and the population mean is 520. Std Dev is 148 in a sample of 50

Maybe it's the wording, but can someone help me wrap my head around this?

Thanks

K
